Guided IFTA

We get the boxes in order. You file.

CarrierAgent prepares the quarter from records you captured and confirmed. You file it. Your state's portal computes the tax. This is a walkthrough, not done-for-you.

V1 is IFTA only. The iPhone app is the product and has no public App Store listing. This page explains the planned walkthrough; it is not a filing desk.

The path

Four stops. That is the whole walkthrough.

No dispatch. No load board. Paper in, a quarter you can stand behind, and you at the official portal.

Scan

Paper already in your hand.

Photograph a fuel receipt or a rate confirmation. Or pull the PDF. You tell the iPhone app which one it is.

Who does what

Three columns. No blurred lines.

The carrier authority is the tenant. Trucks belong to that authority, and accounts receive truck-scoped access. Money stays with the truck's owner. Employee drivers may upload receipts and never see that truck's money. IFTA may consolidate miles and gallons for the authority; CarrierAgent does not compute tax dollars.

You

  • Capture rate confirmations and fuel receipts, and confirm each one.
  • Close the gaps the app names before the quarter is lined up.
  • Review miles and gallons against the quarter you actually ran.
  • Submit the return and pay in your base state's own portal.

CarrierAgent

  • Organizes distance by jurisdiction and tax-paid gallons by jurisdiction.
  • Puts those numbers in the order your portal asks for.
  • Keeps the source documents attached to the totals they support.
  • Walks you through the filing handoff. Does not press submit.

Your base state

  • Publishes the official rates, forms, portal, and deadlines.
  • Computes the tax after the numbers are entered.
  • Receives the return and takes the payment.
  • Decides acceptance. CarrierAgent never speaks for it.
Confirm rates and rules at the source. IFTA, Inc. publishes the official quarterly tax rate matrix. Your base state publishes the forms, portal, and deadlines. CarrierAgent is independent of both. Official IFTA tax rate matrix

Guided IFTA questions.

Will CarrierAgent file my return outside Indiana?
No. This is a walkthrough, not done-for-you. You submit and pay in your own portal. Indiana is the only managed jurisdiction in the launch plan, and that service is not taking paying filings yet.
Does the app decide how much tax I owe?
No. Your state's portal computes the tax. CarrierAgent organizes miles and gallons. It does not invent a tax-due figure.
Where do the tax rates come from?
IFTA, Inc. publishes the official quarterly tax rate matrix, and your base state publishes its own instructions. Confirm rates at those sources. CarrierAgent does not set rates and does not apply them into a tax-due number.
Do I need the iPhone app?
The iPhone app is the product. The website is ads and explanation, plus free tools. The app has no public App Store listing yet. The free readiness check works today with no account.
Before the App Store listing is live

Start with where your quarter actually stands.

The readiness check is free, needs no account, and names the records a defensible quarter still needs. If Indiana is your base, the launch service is one link away. It is not live for paying filings.
