Does an active authority status mean a carrier can legally haul my freight?
No. This shows what the registry source reported at the moment you searched. Operating authority, insurance filings, safety performance, and eligibility for a particular load are separate questions. Confirm current status in the FMCSA SAFER Company Snapshot and with the carrier's own documentation.
Where does the data come from?
From public motor carrier registry data reached through CarrierAgent's lookup service. The source is named on every result. CarrierAgent is not FMCSA, is not affiliated with it, and does not edit or certify registry data.
Do you keep my searches?
The number is sent to CarrierAgent's lookup service to fetch the registry snapshot. It is not stored on a CarrierAgent account and is not used as an email-gated lead.
Why did my search come back empty?
Either the number does not match a record in the source, the number type is wrong (MC entered as USDOT or the reverse), or the outside source is temporarily unavailable. Try the other number type, then confirm directly in SAFER.
